The Porsche 930 3.0L Turbo was first introduced to the world for public consumption for the 1975 model year. Only 284 units were produced and so began the world's long-lasting love affair with Porsche's forced induction masterpiece.
This example was the 108th 930 made for the 1976 model year, and was actually delivered to German dealer Gottfried W. Schultz, in Ratingen, Germany, in October of 1975, making it the 392nd 930 ever produced. Built for the European market, with an uprated 260 bhp engine (vs. 245 for the U.S. version), this example was finished in the rare color code 304-Minerva Blue of which only 40 units were made in 1976 and 94 units were made throughout the 930 3.0 run.
This example was treated to a complete, nut and bolt, concours restoration in Germany by marque experts with direct access to Porsche factory materials, parts and equipment, resulting in one of the finest-if not the finest-930's available on the market today. The interior is clothed exactly as it left the factory with one deviation-the addition of blue madras turbo seat inserts. Originally, this 930 came fitted with black leather inserts. However, a new set of black leather inserts have been fabricated and come with the car, in the event the next owner would like to take the interior exactly to as-delivered condition.
This particular example was also outfitted with factory a/c. During the restoration process, the original a/c system was removed and an electric a/c system was discreetly added (the same system used by Singer, Guntherworks and many race teams) which blows ice cold and does not rob the engine of a single unit of power.
